The civil votes are read in Italian and last about 15 – 20 minutes, but you can also enrich the reception having it last as long as you want . After the reading of the votes, the bride and the groom exchange their rings and the witness sign the register. According to the Italian law a divorced woman or a widow can’t get married before 300 days since the official day of the divorce or the death of the previous husband. The minimum stay required is 4 days before the union takes place. The receptions at the city-hall take place from Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 a.m. and need to be booked in advance. The following documents are required from the Officer of the local civil state…   In Italy, a catholic reception can be done just in a church and can be celebrated just if the bride and the groom are both catholic. If one of the two has a different religion, the reception is still possible but only with a special agreement before the wedding, approved by the specific catholic authorities. If one of the two parts is divorced, the church does not allow them to get married in the church again. In this case an annulment given by the catholic authorities is needed.
