PALERMO :
it is down in the bay, at the feet of the mount
Pellegrino, Palermo is so called because of the
name of its sea. The Phoenicians –Punic city was
baptized by Greeks with the name “Panoramos”
that means “a whole port”.
The Pretoria Fountain is also called “the
fountain of the shame” because the naked statues.
San Giovanni degli Eremiti, surrounded by a
luxuriant garden, is one of the most important
monuments of the Norman Palermo, even because
its architectural structure has an Arabian
matrix
AGRIGENTO :
even though his fame comes mainly from the
Valley of temples, also the rest of the town
deserve to be seen.
PIAZZA
ARMERINA
: the mosaics of the Villa del Casale have
been preserved in centuries (the villa was
discovered by the end of ‘800) thanks to a flood
that covered the villa under a layer of slime.
CALTAGIRONE:
in the history of this town, born between
the chains of Mouts Erei and Iblei, there is an
element of continuity: the ceramics.
SIRACUSA : the
Dionisio Ear is one the most important latomia
that was called this way because according to a
legend, thanks to the extraordinary acoustic of
this cave, the tyrant could listen also the most
quite whispers of the prisoner from without
being seen.
The Roman amphitheatre measures 140 x 119 mt (external
diameter), and it’s a little more than a small
Arena of Verona.
TAORMINA :the Greek
theatre is the second for dimensions in Sicily,
after the one of Syracuse. From the tiers you
can admire the Enta and the sea.
The Communal Villa, that overlooks on a
panoramic projection, is the legacy of a rich
English woman who fell in love with Taormina.
The Palazzo Corvaja was the seat of the first
Sicilian parliament of 1411. The Norman
structure, with the embattled front interrupted
by mullioned windows, was born around a
pre-existent Arabian tower.

ETNA : in the past
it was considered the forge of the God Volcano,
and Sciascia defined it as “a huge house cat
that quietly sleeps, and once in a while awakes…”.
For those who love walking and explore the
nature, instead, the Etna is a friend that has
1000 surprises, that combines snow and fire,
that substitutes the vegetation to the black
lava flows. In the heart of the Volcano residual
floors of ancient erupting mouths extend, under
them you will see the moonlike landscape of
Valle del Bove.
CATANIA : laid down
between the Ionic sea and the bottom slope of
Etna, the second town in Sicily has always lived
in touch with the volcano, starting from the
materials with which it was constructed.
